Under the existing system each Board member maintains a separate list of the contacts he or she needs.

When information needs overlaps, Board members share information manually or by exchanging copies.

The problems ...

  • Sometimes data needs to be converted between storage formats.
  • Exhanging data causes delays in getting work done, especially if people aren't always available.
  • Updates that one person makes aren't immediately available to others.
  • Data can be lost if someone's home computer crashes.
